Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging method that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within the body. At Prima Health Care, a registered technologist performs echocardiography, a specialized type of ultrasound that is used to look at the function of the heart, while also making possible other diagnostic studies that evaluate the blood flow in the arteries and veins. Ultrasound is also used to diagnose medical conditions in the abdomen, pelvis and breast.
